Taking a Tour of the Best Noshes and Eateries for the Early Risers of Prescott

The heart of Downtown Prescott is well-known for its incredible nightlife…but what about its morning life?  While some people love a nice craft cocktail in a bustling saloon, a whole lot of us love a cup of coffee, a side of eggs benedict, and maybe a simple mimosa just as much. We like easing into the day with a leisurely brunch and letting the morning sun light our way.  Lucky for residents and visitors, there is seemingly no end to the breakfast and brunch options in and around Prescott.

So, let’s hop on the Brunch Bus and search for the best eggs in town!  …Or pancakes!  …Or waffles!  Whatever floats your brunch boat, we’re here to help you find it!

We’ll start by swinging by Murphy’s Pub—where the coffee is always hot and the pancakes always fluffy!  Just a block from Courthouse Square, Murphy’s resides in a converted landmark building that once housed the General & Mercantile Store in the 1890s.  The ambiance is as charming as the staff, and the company you meet on any given Sunday may just end up becoming part of your brunch family forever!  Chef Matthew and Chef Clifford work hard to bring fresh culinary ideas to the menu—but the classics always remain true.  Because you just can’t ever go wrong with benedicts, steak & eggs, and chicken fried steak.  Stop in and see what Prescott’s favorite brunch spot is whipping up and why Murphy’s is a mainstay for so many locals!

The next stop on the Brunch Bus is at Raven Café—"Prescott’s Favorite Gathering Place.”  Serving locally made organic coffee from Prescott Coffee Roasters, and sourcing organic produce from local farmers, Raven Café prides itself on offering a natural culinary experience in a cozy and friendly environment.  They even have rooftop seating with gorgeous views of Thumb Butte!  What’s even better?  It’s not just the views delicious menu items like the “andouille sausage omelet” and “breakfast poutine” that keep people coming back, but the incredible musicians and artists the café showcases too!  When it comes to food, drink, art, and music, Raven Café serves up all things local and delicious!

It’s time to get back on the bus and head over to Prescott Station Grill and Bar for a unique spin on southwestern cuisine.  Serving up bold flavors and scenic views, Prescott Station is a focal point of Downtown Prescott and a great place to kick back and relax after a busy morning around town.  If you love benedicts, this is definitely the place for you!  From crab to smoked salmon and traditional to French toast—the benedicts at Prescott Station are equal parts unique and scrumptious.  Even if a benedict isn’t really your thing, the menu has plenty of brunch options that range from traditional to distinctively southwestern.  The cocktails they conjure up are a draw in their own right, but we’ll let you be the judge of that!

It’s time for another stop and there’s something that’s been missing—and that thing is an exquisite Bloody Mary bar.  That’s where the Peacock Room at the Hassayampa Inn comes in!  As the fourth stop on our Brunch Bus Tour, the Peacock Room has distinguished itself as the cream of the crop in terms of mouthwatering Sunday Brunches.  Offering flavorful food at a reasonable price, the Hassayampa Inn a must-see on our list of outstanding brunch stops!  Just step out on the patio for a Bloody and take in the scenic views and charming ambiance of the town of Downtown Prescott.

For all the dog-lovers out there, The Barley Hound is the next stop on our Brunch Bus journey. As a pet-welcoming joint—it provides patrons with a dog-friendly patio where they can bring their furry friends along to enjoy Prescott’s favorite gastropub!  Grab your pup and bring them over for some yummy eats, refreshing drinks, and stunning views.  Owner Skyler Reeves had a dream of furnishing the people of Prescott with an eatery that showcased a casual atmosphere with a distinctive food and drink menu, and in 2015 his dream became a reality.  The Barley Hound has been a Prescott brunch staple ever since.

Rounding out our brunch journey through Prescott, we’ll make one final stop at Bistro St. Michael.  Residing in the iconic Hotel St. Michael, the restaurant serves up traditional American fare and top shelf spirits.  The Bistro gives Prescott Station a run for their money in terms of benedict offerings, so do yourself a favor and try both!  Grab a delightful breakfast tea or coffee, or imbibe in a craft cocktail or two!

Our time on the Brunch Bus has come to an end, but no need to worry!  Stop by any one of these incredible brunch spots on any given Sunday and feed that hunger for an exciting morning life in Prescott!  They’re here to serve your needs and send you off on your day feeling blissful and belly-filled!
